Admission Exemption List
  • A valid form of identification is required to verify eligibility for free admission or discounts.
  • The following groups are exempt from the admission fee (excluding Fridays and public holidays) but must pay the difference for the guided tour at the ticketing office:
    • Egyptian students at public universities in the faculty of Antiquities
    • Egyptian faculty members and support staff at public universities in the faculty of Antiquities
  • The following groups are exempt from the admission fee all week but must pay the difference for the guided tour at the ticketing office:
    • Children under the age of six
    • Visitors with disabilities
    • Egyptian tour guides accompanying a group
    • Members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM)
  • The following groups are exempt from the admission fee (excluding weekends and public holidays) but must pay the difference for the guided tour at the ticketing office:
    • Egyptian tour guides
    • Egyptian military veterans
    • Family members of Egyptian martyrs
    • Employees of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities
    • Authorised journalists for the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (Prior Coordination Required)
    • Egyptian students at public universities in the faculties of History, Civilisation, Heritage, Museums, Tourism, Tourism Guidance, Architecture, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, and Arts Education
    • Egyptian faculty members and support staff at public universities in the faculties of History, Civilisation, Heritage, Museums, Tourism, Tourism Guidance, Architecture, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, and Arts Education
    • Egyptian students at public primary and preparatory schools, upon submission of a formal letter from the school at least one month prior to the visit
    • Orphans, upon submission of a formal letter from an orphanage association or organisation at least one month prior to the visit
  • Foreign spouses of Egyptians and their children are eligible to buy the Egyptian admission pass. Proof of relationship is required: ID/birth certificate for children and a marriage certificate for spouses.
